Ashley Rieke, Primary Care Systems Manager for the American Cancer Society, experienced great success in training her FQHC partner’s staff as part of the VACs project. She combined HPV vaccination content training with training on new EHR processes related to HPV vaccination which made it really relevant for the staff. Staff learned why HPV vaccination is important, how to share information with parents and step-by-step instructions for determining if a patient is due for the vaccine. This was the first clinical training where Samuel U. Rodgers included their front desk staff – a key part of unifying staff on this initiative. Staff commented on the helpfulness of the scenario videos from the Minnesota Department of Health.
